So getting here was a mess. I had to pay for having a bag! When the F did this start? I missed the first plane cuz my bag was too heavy. I was at the counter for a minute…As I’m about to leave the counter the guy says if you take some stuff out your good or split it into 2 bags. I was in shock and thinking you ass I had a back pack on an could have handled that while in line!
So they put me on another plane later in the day…get to check in and the flight is delayed and they say I will miss my connecting flight. They put me on yet another plane!!! OMG…this day is insane. Then I have 3 hr lay over in LA. Finally get to SA get something to eat and call it a night.
Today has been chill….my homeboy Eddie from Million Monkey Clothing swoops me up from the hotel and we head over to Sole Boutique. I met Julio and Fabby. Cool peeps and def a great looking store….(pics comong soon) they got big things going on.
I went for stroll at Riverwalk and I have to say, it was really nice and mad busy. I ustreamed from there…I’ll see if I can post it so you can see some of the city.
But its now 3:48p in TX and we’ve stuck on the 35N for 2hrs in the same spot because of some bullshit…I’m starving for some Rudy’s BBQ and its like so close. AAAAAARRRRGGGHHH! I’m going through part 2 of yesterdays travels! FML
SUNDAY March 14, 2010
The day of the show…Eddie from Million Monkey Clothing picks me up…we get some Thai food and head to the event.
I went with an open mind, didn’t really expect much because I’ve done shows before and its whatever.
This show started off slow and grew into a major deal! I was pleased and surprised at the warm reception given to me and my work.
Maybe it was the southern hospitality? Or maybe they were just too nice to tell me the truth…either way…I’ll take it! lol
Shout outs to Greg Street, Bobbito Garcia and Wale for showing up and just hanging out!
Greg Street did a quick interview of me…lol..Good looking out Greg. (Video below)
The event was held in the WITTE Museum and I must say almost every square inch was filled with vendors and spectators.
They had a fashion show, a bunch of DJs, breakers, sneakers of course, artwork…etc…
I Ustreamed a bunch of footage so you can get a glimpse of what was going on. Here’s the Link: http://www.ustream.tv/user/solejunkie go to “Archived Videos”
Words can’t describe how at home I felt…I’ll def go back for part 2 if invited.
Shout outs to all that made it happen and I’ll see you guys soon.

After months of deliberation and meetings.
Yours truly has teamed up with Colt 45 to do a series of shoes to be displayed at the 2010 Sneaker Pimps Tour.
I think this is definitely a good look for everyone involved and I’m excited to get started.
Unfortunately there will be no Sneak Peaks or Leaks of designs to come…I guess I’ll see you at the shows.
I’m keeping this short and simple…I got work to do.
One small step for an artist, a giant step for the movement!
Peace, Love and SOLE!

Yesterday was a stormy day in southern California. Definitely not a night to drive 200+ miles to a sneaker event. But thats exactly what I did!
Me and my wife battled the rain and winds…not to mention all the dumb ass drivers that were trying to hit Mach One speeds while hydroplaning into the center dividers on the 5 freeway.
Yeah it was a sight. What would normally be an hour and half drive turned out to be about 3+ hrs.
So lets get to it…I was not about to miss the first annual Clash of the Customizers Show in LA.
Here I had the privilege to meet my fellow artist/peers and friends.
When you walk in you see a bunch of one of a kind sneakers hanging from the ceiling in acrylic cases.
Out of many…ONE kick ass show.
People were in awe and amazement while drooling over Sneakers.
Man this was some good shit.
I felt like I was visiting long lost family members…you know peeps you haven’t seen in a long time.
Heavy Hitters like Emmanuelabor, Stizo, Jester, Yoakustoms, Twitch, Image…the cats from Diversitile…and a bunch more. (Sorry if I missed your name on the list…I’m still tired…lol)
It was bananas. I was humbled to be in the presence of these people and inspired to greater things.
This actually felt like the beginning of a real movement.
I don’t have much more to say except if you missed it…then you missed out!
I did take some pics and a lil video…I’m sure the guys n gals there have more. Here’s what I got.

Sole Junkie: The Custom Kicks of Steven Cedré is a beautifully bound, museum-quality coffee-table book. It celebrates the artist’s work, his vivid imaginings, painted on a canvas of shoes, set to a pictorial backdrop of the visionary history of graffiti. The idea was to lay some pavement under the path of this truly intriguing brand of modern art.
For those not familiar with his work, Sole Junkie custom kicks are born in the true spirit of Hip Hop — building on what’s at hand and turning it into something entirely new. The artist focuses on his Latin heritage and his childhood experiences in the Bronx, the birthplace of Hip Hop. Images of Tito Puente, Notorious B.I.G., Pedro Albizu, and Celia Cruz grace his these wearable masterpieces. His kicks have made appearances everywhere from Fortune 500 company boardrooms to concert stages worldwide.

May 12, 2009 – We’ve seen a lot of ridiculous console merchandise come across our desks here at IGN Gear, and while there are an infinite number of excessive products, thankfully they retail at prices that aren’t going to make you feel like you were left unguarded in a prison shower for five minutes. Today, unfortunately, that trend ends as we’ve been made aware of Xbox-themed shoes that cost more than six Xbox 360 Elite consoles. Do they interact with your games? Nope. Do you get free DLC by purchasing them? Nah. Will they result in you getting into a fight with the kid wearing the PS3 leather jacket? Winner winner chicken dinner!

The Xbox 360 Controller Shoe is designed to compliment the look of Microsoft’s premiere gaming system, all for the low low price of $2,500. Yep, that is not a typo. Here’s how the official description reads:
“These are an exclusive pair…only one of its kind. Patent leather back with embedded fiber optic wiring in the shape of the XBOX logo. Battery placement is in the tongue as well as on and off switch that has 2 settings: Strobe or Constant light functions. Gradient lime swoosh faded to black. The toe is painted in a surreal Tiger Camouflage with accents of lime and bright green. These are a men’s size 11.”

We don’t know when strobe lighting for shoes started costing more than what we paid for our first car, but whatever. The bottom of the shoe contains the familiar Xbox 360 controller button layout, but the damn things are useless. You would think that for this price tag that you could at least USB these bastards into your system and log your worst game of Uno ever. Fat chance.
So now you’re presented with a choice, get an Xbox 360 Elite console, 56″ HDTV and decent 5.1 surround sound system, or…the most excessively priced shoes ever likely produced by a group of oppressed children. Choose wisely.

May 14 11:25 A.M.
Yup, they cost $2500
Some console fans will spare no expense to show their loyalty to their chosen brand, but we’re guessing the $2,500 price tag of these one-of-a-kind Xbox-themed sneakers will make even the most committed Microsoft devotee think twice.
The custom shoes — which aren’t endorsed by Microsoft or Nike — are handmade by Sole Junkie, a California-based artist who specializes in customized sneakers. And they’re not the most expensive ones he’s ever made. “I have made shoes with 22k gold and diamonds on them,” he told us in an interview. “I look at my creations as functional art…not just ordinary sneakers.”
That would be functional in shoe terms, not in a gaming sense. Although you might hope that the $2,500 price tag would buy you cool Xbox interactivity, there’s no hidden hard drive or controller functionality. Instead, the Xbox logos light up, courtesy of embedded fiber optics and a hidden switch.
According to Sole Junkie’s eBay auction, “These are an exclusive pair…only one of its kind.
Will they sell? He seems confident. “I have had offers already. They mention the beauty and artwork in it, not the price tag. Don’t know how serious the buyers are so far.”
But surprisingly, many Xbox fans aren’t overjoyed at his work. “The video game community hates the price and the fact I may have taken a beloved iconic gaming system and butchered it,” he told us. “On the other hand, I’ve had very positive responses from others…more than negative ones.”
So, $2,500 shoes that do nothing? We’ll pass. But if your collection of gaming memorabilia isn’t complete without this unique footwear, don’t let us stop you from jumping in.

Yesterday I set out on my mini road trip to LA to display my work at the Sneaker Pimp show.
I was accompanied by my wife and friend.
The drive up was interesting…we shared some good laughs. I might post some video of the trip..it was funny.
So after a tiring a trip up north to LA, we arrived at Western and 6th to feast on some Korean BBQ with my buddy David. Man is that some good eats! We were so stuffed that we felt sick most of the night. lol
Can you say a bit of Glutony?
A few hrs later we set off to Hollywood and arrived at the Vanguard to set up for Sneaker Pimps.
We were way in the back…but still you make the best with what your given.
Besides myself, they had all types of vendors there…not only was I doing a live painting there were other performers on stage.
Everyone did thier thing.
MC’s, DJ’s and other painters. It was good to be surrounded by artists, fans and fellow sneaker enthusiasts.
Here are some pics.
Can’t wait til 2010!
PS. Shout out to all who came by my booth to say hello and the cats who partook of the Dunk Xchange.
